One minute
Quick, it’s silent… the kids are a little distracted and it’s time to write. One minute of a continuos thought. Ready. Set. Go.What is something adorable that happened today or the last 24 hours that is memorable? Sharing. A miracle. In the back seat on the way home from… pitter patter, big smile there goes Asher, just seeing him takes my breath away, he’s my son,… he’s on his way to the…Times up… one minute… until the next time.
Two minutes
Another alone time, shall I try two minutes this time? Haircut. I brought Asher to my hair stylist the other day and he wouldn’t sit in the chair, although I thought I had properly prepared him.. “Big black cape and it’s shiny! And Julia is so sweet and gentle.” At first I thought, perhaps we shouldn’t go, I’ll be cutting off his hair of innocence and perhaps like Samson and Delia he will lose some strength of youth.
Timer. Take two.
Three minutes
Perhaps a longer breath? Asher was hiding in the lilac bushes at the end of the driveway and little Finn was bent over on the black bumpy pavement screaming. What happened? I was busy packing up the car for our adventures and I turned my back hoping that the children would be able to attend to themselves and the yellow and blue hula hoops our neighboor let us borrow. But I heard a scream and crying and I knew it wasn’t going to be good, but I didn’t know it was going to be this bad…
Now apples and walnuts in a little blue shiny bowl have appeared in my line of sight…Asher wants to sit next to me, “Can I sit “nefst to you?” Off to eat a snack.
